Double & twin pushchairs

Doubles come in two broad layouts. Side-by-side models give both children an equal view and usually recline independently, but they are wider — measure your front door and any regular shop doorways. Tandem models are narrower and often accept different seat configurations, though the rear seat can have a more limited view.

If you have a newborn and a toddler, check which seat positions accept a carrycot or infant car seat, and how the pushchair folds with both seats attached. Weight matters more on a double than on a single, especially if you lift it into a car regularly.
