Infant carriers are rearward-facing, usually cover the earliest months and typically attach to a pushchair chassis with adapters. Some are fitted with a seatbelt, others need a matching ISOFIX base — bases are often sold separately, so factor that into the total cost.

Check the height range published by the retailer, the weight of the carrier if you will be lifting it often, and whether a newborn insert is included.
